REVEAL Cotton Watercolor Journal – 4.7 × 4.7 in

I didn't know what to expect with this sketchbook, I was just hoping for the best andW wow, was I overjoyed when I opened the wrapping to find a very nicely textured, thick paper inside this little beauty! It says in the description that the paper is 140lb, cold pressed, 100% cotton. I absolutely believe it. I just painted on it and I can definitely say it's a winner. I have included pictures of the process and final painting so you can see for yourself that it held up incredibly well. I did a wet on wet background and glazed with quite a bit of clear water. I also used quite a bit of masking fluid which I remove with a rubber eraser. I also had to scrub out a couple things and wondered how it would handle it... It did beautifully! Not only was the paper not damaged during the scrubbing process (and I used a scrub brush!) but I also did some lifting and it lifted so we'll I couldn't see any paint left behind! This of course depends on how staining your paints are, so check that before jumping in, if you're not sure. I'm would say I gave this paper a pretty good workout and I'm truly impressed. This will be a joy to paint in! The only issue I had was that the paint seeped through the middle and you can see it on the next page (middle where sewn) and on the very front "cover page". This is really no fault of the sketchbook though. It's just how it's made and to be expected if you soak a two page spread in water and paint. So I'm fine with it. It is what it is. The only other thing for me personally is I think this should be about $11-12, not $16. That's a bit overpriced in my opinion. Otherwise, I think it's a complete win. Hopefully they bring the price down, I mean I can get larger ones for that price... And if they do, I'll be buying more. Hoping Funto reads this. I've included pictures of the inside paper texture, the pocket, and the staining, as well as the painting with the masking fluid on it and afterwards when finished. I love this journal so much! The cover is gorgeous and the paper holds up to numerous washes. I even bought one for my instructor. This is my go-to watercolor journal!

I really like this little journal. I use it for my travels and doing a quick sketch of what I see.

I like it. The paper inside is very good with a rough surface not too rough. It's perfect for doing daily sketches in a journal fashion.
