ROAMER Watercolor Journals – 5.5 × 5.5 in

This review is for the 5.5"x5.5" watercolour books. The paper is thick and textured on both sides of the paper. My preferred watercolour paper of choice is CansonXL but I learned on the brand Artist's Loft. I would say the paper in these books are textured similarly to the Artist's Loft (but this paper is thicker). Zero bleed through (even when using wet on wet), this paper absorbs water and paint evenly and I feel confident using it. I use binder clips on the corners when painting wet on wet, and other then the slight warping you would expect on super heavy wet/wet, I see nothing that I would call "buckling". The glue that was used to attach the back pocket onto the inside back cover was dried up and the pocket fell out of the book as soon as I opened it (I'm sure it was attached at the time of manufacturing, but by the time it reached me, the glue had dried up). I honestly don't think I would have used it for anything anyway, so I wasn't bothered by it. The only reason I gave four out of five stars is because I don't care for the texture of the paper. However, I do love a hardcover watercolour sketchbook and, since Canson has discontinued their Graduate line of books, I will definitely be trying more of the Funto ones!

AMAZING for watercolors! Absolutely changed the game when using watercolors. The binding is great, the thickness of the paper is great, and the absorption is absolutely amazing. Definitely worth it if you want to keep using watercolors!

This is a great watercolor journal. I'm new to watercolor. I am a professional artist specializing in airbrushing, oils, acrylic paintings, and painting portraits, landscapes, and whatever the client wants. I always wanted to try watercolors, and here it is. I bought a small set of 12 color Cotman watercolors to give it a go before I buy the pro paints and expensive paper. I am still feeling how water and paper react, and this cute little journal is fantastic. It has 24 individual pages; you have 48 if you paint on both sides. I recommend this: work with small squares before jumping on large paper.

Ho acquistato questo prodotto per un viaggio in Giappone in cui volevo collezzionare tutti gli stampi possibili.Si è rivelato un ottimo acquisto sia per le dimensioni (piccolo ma non troppo) che per la quantità di pagine al suo interno (nonostante la quantità di stampi fatti,sono avanzate parecchie pagine).Consiglio molto per chi ha bisogno di un quadernetto da portarmi in viaggio.

Praktische Gröṣ̌e für Unterwegs

The paper was too textured for what I was trying to sketch with my watercolor pencils. Love the size and elastic for holding it shut or keeping place. So much water and the pages never warped. I'll have to try different subject matter with this paper.

These books are quite tiny, but it's fun for learning watercolors. The pages have a nice thickness. I layered a ton and used dark colors, but you can't see it on the other side.

These are a nice size for small projects. The paper is thick, although at 120 lbs, it does buckle a bit when using watercolors. I use it mainly for ink drawings with limited watercolor. Its a very good value for the price. I like that it has a tight band to keep it closed when not on use

Good quality paper and a nice way to journal and test processes and keep them for reference.

Have used them yet but perfect size and look like good quality for travel sketching or urban sketching.

These little watercolour books are great. No bleed throughs. Perfect for practicing techniques or just relaxing and painting.

Nice for water color

Been painting in these for a couple months and I absolutely love the size and paper quality! I use these for my travel watercolor kit. I've had zero issues with masking products, sticking or tearing that includes washing, tape, painters, tape, and masking fluid. No bleed through whatsoever!

I like the small size of these books. The paper is OK as a practice page for watercolour or gouache. I bought more.

I grabbed this two set to use for some practice journals. The size is perfect for practice and easy to travel with. I think the paper seems like great quality for the price. I don't have any bleed through.
