How to Paint Watercolor Cactus

List of Supplies:
Funto Professional 48 Colors Watercolor Paint Set

Step 1: Dampen your paper with water.
Flip open your watercolor tutorial book and select the desired painting. With your brush poised and ready, begin applying water to the paper in smooth, even strokes. Pay attention to the amount of water you use, as too much or too little can affect the final outcome of your painting.

Step 2: Apply base color to cactus.
With your brush poised and ready, dip it into the green paint. Be sure to load the brush with enough paint to achieve the desired effect. Next, gently apply the paint to the paper, as the paint begins to dry, you can experiment with adding other colors. Don't be afraid to let your creativity run wild and explore different combinations until you find the perfect look for your cactus painting.

Step 3: Add texture to your cactus painting.
Now it's time to take your cactus painting to the next level by adding texture. To achieve this, select a darker green paint and carefully apply it to the areas of the cactus that you want to highlight. Pay attention to the direction of the brushstrokes, as this will help to create the illusion of depth. Be sure to blend the darker green with the lighter green that you used previously to create a smooth transition.

Step 4: Add some finishing touches.
One of the most distinctive features of cacti is their spines, so be sure to include them in your painting. To do this, simply dip the tip of your brush in darker green paint and carefully apply it to the surface of the cactus. Use a variety of brushstrokes to create a realistic-looking texture.
